We have to focus and start with our youth; technology is the future of the world and we need to provide our kids with the necessary knowledge and skills to be part of a globally competitive nation.
The FABroots programme originated in order to bring technical skills to Namibia and share new technologies with future tech leaders. The target market for the initiative is largely underprivileged youth within close proximity of Windhoek and between the ages of 10 and 18. FABroots serves as a means of tapping into the students’ potential in science and technology by encouraging their creativity, and encouraging them to undertake technical studies in higher learning institutions or become technology driven entrepreneurs. A special focus is geared towards encouraging female students to partake in FABroots as a previously marginalised group.
We have planned an array of interactive sessions where we invite the youth to take part in workshops and info sessions.
