Namibia is a big country with savannas, huge dune deserts and a small population. In it’s capital, Windhoek, I found a well equipped fablab with a lot of well succeeded programs.

FABLab Namibia is bringing the world renowned Design Indaba of Cape Town to Windhoek from 1 to 3 March, which will make the FNCC (Franco Namibian Cultural Centre) in Windhoek the creative hub of Namibia.
During those days the FABLab and FNCC will stream all the sessions live, and have several activities and speakers at the Design Indaba from Cape Town.

The Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Thomas Silberhorn, toured NUST’s Fabrication Laboratory (FABlab).

In December 2016, FABlab built the first functional robot in Namibia. This laboratory, which is based in Windhoek, is a subsection of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and was established thanks to a partnership with the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development.Continue Reading
